This song was about letting go and noticing the things around you that could have meaning on a deeper level. When Matt read my lyrics he had a different take and only kept the last 4 lines adding his own spin. It was to basically contrast or question whether you can or should take things as meaningful or too seriously. Life is what we make of it and there isn't always a clear or correct answer.

The phrase "go off" has three meanings here; to leave, or be released. To me it's for your inner demons to be set free. Another is to lose control. I have a lot of love for my father, but I grew up very sensitive and fearful of his anger that he used to have issues with. He would warn us of repercussions by saying that he was gonna "go off" if things kept up. Finally it's could also mean to speak ones truth without holding back. To go all the way. I like to think of this as giving it my all in everything. To push myself to the limit. This album forced me to "go off" in many ways.
