Smoke and Mirrors are words and actions meant to deceive or confuse by making something seem better than it is. In my life I have had others do this to me and have also done this to others. It is an idea to reflect on. How have we been lied to and how do we put up fronts to make others accept us. Many of us have been manipulated before and it can create a cycle that must be broken.

I wanted to sample an old I Kill Giants song called "Pigskins" and in that song is some of Matt Hull's trumpet playing, so having him solo over himself was just the coolest idea to me. I think his solo is one of the deepest feelings to be heard on this entire record and I get chills and tears every time I hear it.
